FAQ

This page responds to the most common FAQs. If you have a question which isn't below please reach out.

What are the keychains made of?

The short answer is: it's made of what it says on the front.

The longer answer is that to maximise reach and minimise waste we design at three levels - the Manufacturer, Model and the Series level. Taking the above keychains as an example:

  • At the Manufacturer level (in this example Holden) any Holden donor panel can be used, and any model of Holden can be used as the graphic. This level has the most color options.
  •  At the Model level (in this example Commodore) any Commodore donor panel can be used, and any model of Commodore can be used as the graphic.
  • At the Series level, (in this example VS), only VS Commodore donor panels can be used, and only the VS commodore can be used as the graphic.

We take seriously the authenticity of our keychains and the integrity of the process. We will never sell a keychain claiming to be made of something it's not. If you want to know what the donor panel is for any given keychain, it's listed in the collapsable menu.

If the photo doesn't match the colour of the donor panel that's because we've had it painted, again this is about making more options available and minimising wastage.

What panels do you use?

Generally speaking, we want to buy the panels that:

  • are uneconomical to get fixed or
  • are damaged in some way (i.e. paint faded, hail damaged, crashed etc)

If they're not damaged then they need to be common, unwanted or lower value. Ute tubs for example can be in good condition but there is often little demand for them.

We don't buy pristine panels, and we don't buy rare panels because we don't want to compete with enthusiasts. This is another reason we design at the manufacturer level!

If you get your keychain in the mail and wonder how the paint is so new, it's probably because we've had the panel resprayed.

Do you do larger orders?

Yes! We've worked with car clubs on custom larger orders at a discounted price.
